Artist Statement
I am an animator who primarily focuses in storyboarding. I create stories about my characters. My main skills focus on dialogue and characterization in which storyboarding is the best format to showcase those skills in. I also have done comics and digital illustrations for the same reason. When I was 8, I was inspired by YouTube and watching people share their own stories and the different formats. Now, I focus on history, particularly from 1700s to today, using characters based on different countries. My goal is to create a TV show featuring my country characters.

As a digital artist, I use many different types of programs. For digital illustrations, I primarily use Clip Studio Paint. For animation, I use Toon Boom Harmony as well as Krita. I was mainly inspired by watching animatics on YouTube and wanted to copy them. Their storytelling, cinematography and symbolism really spoke to me. These artists made me realize that I could tell interesting stories through the medium. I also watched many TV shows as a kid, like My Little Pony, Steven Universe, Gravity Falls, and Adventure Time that inspired my storytelling and sense of humor. It also made me realize that stories for children can have deep themes and appeal to adults as well. My current project, Chaotic Nations, aims to use the techniques I’ve learned to tell the story of my characters, primarily focusing on history.

I want my audience to learn as much as be entertained by my work. I always had a love for animation as a kid and held many shows in high esteem. Having been a part of online fandoms growing up, and even to this day, I would love if my work could inspire someone’s childhood just like how I was. Not only that but also teach history and advocate for unity in the world and hopefully make it a better place. I learned many moral lessons from shows growing up, and I would love to help make a positive impact for the next generation. Adolescents deserve compelling and inspiring stories, rather than what modern children’s animation makes today.
